Joe is a dad, husband, designer, painter, and collector of tchotchkes. He believes in leading with empathy.
Currently, Joe is a Principal Experience Designer at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), specializing in design systems, digital design patterns, and leading high-performing design teams. With a career spanning over two decades, he brings a passion for high-fidelity design and a track record of delivering impactful digital experiences.
A graduate of Pratt Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Joe launched his career at Pentagram’s New York City office, designing identities, collateral, and signage for a range of institutions. After a brief stint at The McDevitt Group, he became Design Director at Indian Larry Legacy, a Brooklyn-based motorcycle collective. Following 10 years in NYC, he returned to Pittsburgh to be closer to family, joining MAYA Design, where he spent 8 years crafting thoughtful digital experiences. When BCG acquired MAYA in 2017, Joe transitioned to his current role at BCG X, continuing to shape the future of digital design.
Beyond BCG, his experience includes contributions to Landesberg Design, Wall-to-Wall Studios, and Actual Size. He has worked with high-profile clients such as the National Football League, Mercedes-Benz, the Mob Museum, and Indian Larry, with his work earning recognition from AIGA and SEGD. He has also collaborated with the NYC Design Trust for Public Space. His work can be seen in numerous publications.
Joe’s achievements include receiving the Certificate of Excellence Award for Outstanding Merit in Graphic Design upon graduating from Pratt. He served on AIGA Pittsburgh’s board as Director of the Speaker Series and was Vice President of Pratt Institute’s drum club.
